RDP issue reporting mouse movement?

When I move the mouse in a certain mode(mouse being locked in SDL(2), I notice that the movements become more ridiculous(instead of the proper 1x1 movement) as the display resolution of the desktop the app is run in decreases.
164 x 109 at 800x600
64 x 85 at 1024x768
51 x 64 at 1280x1024
34 x 60 at 1920x1080
Can anyone tell me what the relation between this horizontal/vertical movement and display resolution is? I'm not very good with these kinds of things.
