Decorate a Console Application

Hello, I am working on a console application,
But I want to 'Decorate' it a bit, for example:
I would like to have the first line of the console to have a red background and cetered text with my application title.
I thought this was possable using the ncurses libraries. But my question is: how?

Can anyone help me with this?
