I'm doing a web based project about question answering system. I'm checking the correctness of the words the user enter. Wrong words are corrected by the system. Does anyone know where can download a database of dictionary(words) for free?

I herd that there is another free database available on the net (about IT stuff but i'm not sure) but i can't find it. Does anyone know about a database which is available for free (it has data about IT)?
