The Collective Art Project

Jun 28, 2011 at 4:26am
I've been working on a project lately called the Collective Art Project.
It takes a large high resolution image (a famous art piece) and breaks it down into small unrecognizable chunks. A user is then asked to draw that chunk.
The user drawings will be stitched together in a final rendering after all blocks are drawn...

The drawing tool is written using HTML5's canvas.

Works best in Chrome but also IE9 and recent versions of Opera and Safari.

**THIS WILL NOT WORK IN FIREFOX FOR A REASON I HAVE NOT YET DISCOVERED :(

I really really really appreciate any contributions. Please LIKE this page on your facebook too if you have one ;)

It's very hard to draw something that looks like the block :s

Well the project has not been going too well.. I only got 30 entries :/ but I'm thinking of making a devianart post. That should get some good attention.

I have only posted this on this site and given it to a few friends. I would still love to see that final image I imagined when I first started this.
