What are you guys up to and what are you working on? Anything new, cool, and bite size?
What kind of things are you pro C++ programmers working on your spare time, or are you like the shoemaker with broken shoes?
Also, anyone know what happened to George?

Sad to see the state of this site and the lack of a constant flow of posts.
Very skilled group of people in these threads, I hope you guys stay on here forever and don't disperse.
Most of my coding has just been work, so I won't go into much detail there.
Outside of work, I've dabbled with some audio-related processing/synthesis. Probably just reinventing what something like audacity can already do 10x better.
One hypothetical project I was thinking about doing is a walking/running gait analysis video-recognition software. Probably won't get to it lol. I know there is already existing hardware and software for this kind of thing, but I don't know of any FOSS project for this kind of thing.
I did an attempt at using Rust to solve some of the Advent of Code problems at the end of last year. I should try out Go or Odin at some point to expand my repertoire of languages.
George the furryguy it is then, if your listening come back man...forgive and forget!
zapshe, a pre-built CNC machine that you are controlling with something like a Raspberry Pi, with obviously your own code. Sounds like something I would love to do, but probably never get to. Would build myself needed parts, but most importantly a full life-size T2!
Ganado, wow, coincidentally both of those I was just thinking about this week that I need to look at.
I just started my life-long desire to figure out how to make a game in C++ and to look at Shmario Bros type smooth controls (OpenGL). I have the level, and character movement and jumps so far (no enemies or pickups yet) and it surprisingly feels good. I was thinking it would be awesome to have a video interpreter calculate the velocities and movement of Shmario and other characters, and at the same time you can custom control as well. If/when I do this I will hit you up and show you what I have and maybe we can collab.
In a few days I might post the code in here and you guys can tell me what you think and what you might improve.
Don't know why political talk pushed him away so hard, Trump being terrible isn't very controversial either.

Well the exact opposite. I built it myself (from the PrintNC v4 design), the firmware and code that runs this thing is all already out there (ioSender).
Though, ioSender is one of those things where I may eventually find the need to edit the code to customize it for what I need.
A Raspberry Pi might actually be capable of running the CNC, but would take a lot of work. I'm using a FlexiHal controller.
Sadly, at this point, I look at code more than I write it. Good luck on your game!
George 'Furryguy' left because at the time some posts were being abusive. Many posts were 'reported' for their content and removed. If I remember right a couple of posters were banned. Not a good period for this forum.

That was irritating him yes, but he specifically said that if we engage in political talk he would leave (when I made a thread about politics).
I said we would continue to talk politics and that he also shouldn't leave, but he deleted his accounted right after.

Why, your at the top looking down or AI and the takeover? How's the C++ market nowadays, tons of unemployed juniors with seniors overworked and monitoring AI?
George was fun man, he always had something to say for sure and hopefully he notices our references. I think in the lounge politics should be allowed, but maybe captioned or warned for ahead (new thread perhaps). That is the quagmire of politics, you're bound to muddy and sink the sensitive at some point.
