Custom Theme

Aug 31, 2015 at 7:41pm
I've made a custom theme for my Code::Blocks editor and would like some feedback on it. Do you think it's good? Any tips for how it might be improved? Thanks guys.

By the way, feel free to share your own custom themes if you like. It's always interesting to see people's preferred themes.

Doesn't anyone like custom themes...?

You want an opinion?

I personally find that theme to be too dark, too little contrast so the text "blends" into the background.

If you like that theme, use it. I wouldn't.

Thanks for the feedback FurryGuy. I guess I just like the colour scheme. Do you use a custom theme or do you just use whatever theme comes with your IDE?

I personally only make minor changes to a default theme, black text on a white background, so it makes it easier to see C/C++ keywords and comments.

I'd actually disagree and say I find it very easy to read. I personally prefer grey on black with keywords highlighted in a pale blue, which was mentioned in http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/lounge/171268/

Thanks shadowmouse, I'm glad you think so. The reason I'm trying out a darker scheme is to save my eyes. The white background is sometimes too harsh.

Looks good.

The lighting conditions you're in has a large effect on what theme is suitable. If you're in a dimly lit room then a dark theme with low contrast can help reduce eye-strain.
