Chromebook Compiler/ Online Compiler

Nov 23, 2014 at 6:27pm
Does anyone know a good free compiler that would work online or on a chromebook?
I need to find this so I can continue working even when I'm on my Chromebook.
Thanks!

I feel like you made a thread for this about a month ago and we told you ideone.com, cpp.sh, coliru.stacked-crooked.com, and compileonline.com. There are several others out there as well.

It may have been someone else though I don't remember.

Check out http://www.koding.com provides you with a pretty good text editor and your own online VM with root access. Supports pretty much any language out there (Including C++) and allows you to download libraries you may need to the VM.

if you don't want to have to work online, want to have a full featured ide like code::blocks, and the ability to install other packages you could also of course use crouton to run Ubuntu or some other linux distro on top of chrome os, and do all your development on top of that: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-run-both-chrome-os-and-ubuntu-on-a-chromebook/

Why would you get a Chromebook if you wanted to use your computer without an internet connection?

I am online most of the time, but when I'm offline I would like to be able to work also.

the point of a chromebook is that it is mainly meant for online usage

I went to best buy and bought a dinky little netbook for $250.00. It has 500Gb disk space, and a darn good processor if all you need it for is working (I run Arch Linux, so it runs pretty smooth). I don't see why you would buy a computer that doesn't even have an operating system on it when there are perfectly capable alternatives in the same price range.

Errm. Chromebooks do have an operating system on them.

You can also use Google to find the best compiler that suits your need.

ummmm who told you chrome books dont have an operating system?

They don't have a traditional operating system, at least not from the user's perspective.

they still have an operating system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrome_OS

I would suggest CodePad.org, I use it to program on my crappy ds.
