Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Liberty Harbor (LH) desk is a fundamentally driven corporate alternative investment team within Asset Management (AM), part of the Investment Management Division (IMD). LH manages approximately $5 billion of assets, focused primarily on corporate securities, including bank loans, bonds, convertibles, and equities. The assets are invested in a variety of investment vehicles including hedge funds, '40 act funds and separately managed accounts. The desk is located in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The AM Liberty Harbor technology team supports the LH business by designing, developing, enhancing and maintaining portfolio management, trading, risk and reporting systems. The technology team works directly with portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, strategists and operations and controllers staff. In addition, as part of a wider GSAM technology team, the LH technology team works closely with other GSAM technology teams across different functional areas as core infrastructure, trade processing and funding teams.



Role Summary:

The Liberty Harbor Technology team supports a wide array of tools for Portfolio Managers and Traders. The tools include are but not limited to developing/enhancing order management systems, trade capture and booking applications, trade processing, risk and reporting. The desk uses a proprietary risk management system.

The role requires a hands-on technical manager to lead a small team of 2-3 people in Greenwich, CT. The successful candidate will do hands-on development, work with the business to analyze their requirements, create projects to solve them, manage developers to deliver the functionality required, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Application development for order management systems and applications for trade capture, booking, trade processing, risk management, and reporting.
Work closely with the business, sitting within the trading area in Greenwich, CT
The role requires significant amount of user interaction and ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.
Support the trade flow and interface with the Federation users and Technology areas.
We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who can work as part of the Global development team

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Significant design and development experience in one or more object oriented or structured programming language, such as: Java, C#
Strong problem solving skills/analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively
Experience as a hands-on leader of a small team is desired, including a track record of project delivery
