WANT TO CREATE MY FIRST GUI PROGRAM USING C++

Hi everyone, I am a C++ student and I have been writing console programs for over a year now and becoming quite good with them. The problem I have is that the curriculum doesn't seem to cover GUI programming in C++. What can I do to create a GUI app with the C++ knowledge I have so far. The problem with Universities is that they teach you how to program but nothing about how develop software. I am yet to learn how to hide my code in my finished programs and how to get my finished programs on disc ready for installation on other computers. Your help with this will be very much appreciated.

I recommend Qt^[1]. They have documentation to get you started, too^[2].
