C# is more for graphical interface development such as Windows forms. C++ on the other hand, is more for game development, or hardware interaction( assembly is lower than C++ ).

It really depends on what you want from the language. Some languages are faster than others, some languages are more object-orientated than others, and some languages are more lower-level than other.
