I am new to programming and i would like some help if possible. I have done some research on programming languages and i think that C suits me best. What i want is some advice on a good book for a beginner. Also if you have any other tips to give me please go ahead.

C++ Primer 3rd Edition is one of my favorites.
Remember you can't learn playing violin by reading notes. You have to play(program). You can learn a lot more if you debug some program that you wrote than reading books.
