How i can build a statistical machine translation engine?

Hello. I am a programmer. I want to build my own statistical translation engine. I have a decent mastering of C++, i can be able to understand solutions in plain code. I found this book http://93.174.95.29/_ads/2F4260FA9D5156D916C250BF19A7B5F1 Statiscal Machine Translation by Phillip Koehn. I want to build my own project. Do you know any most simplest statistical translation engine?? Some translator that don't uses so much features, and just stay focused in into the topic.

I found something called Moses. I will try it, but if you have another choice can be welcomed.

Where i can find corpora of text ready to feed my engine?? I need both languages. English and Spanish.
