thats quite alright, my hopes are to become a proficient knowledgable professional programmer, and besides,the real world isnt all chocolate cheese cake, so no worries, I welcome any input you have, really! :)

This is one of those better late than never moments.
But avoid using the Schildt books, they are easy to read but contain methods that the ansi format and general programming practice frown upon. Like the goto.
