What is a good and simple Compiler?

Hi, I've yet to actually begin learning C++ as I want to obtain all the required softwares first and one is a compiler. I found a thread on here that spoke of that but I couldn't find the actual compiler or be sure I was about to download the right software.

So could someone guide me to a good/easy compiler with clear directions so I know I'm downloading the right thing? Thank you.
